Welcome!

Welcome to Bristol Dramatherapy, where we get creative about our mental health! This is a warm, humanistic, therapy and mental health practice, which has been dedicated to offering psychotherapy, wellbeing workshops, clinical supervision and mental health education since 2016!

I’m Laura, a registered Dramatherapist and Clinical Supervisor based in Bromley Heath, Downend.

Since opening Bristol Dramatherapy, I’ve been dedicated to offering accessible, humanistic, imaginative therapy and therapeutic spaces where people can feel safe, reconnect with themselves, and take time and space to rest and give opportunities to heal when life feels hard.

Dramatherapy is a type of creative psychotherapy, where exploration doesn’t end at just words. Dramatherapists use therapeutic techniques alongside creative practices such as narrative, story, scenes, metaphor or images to creatively explore new perspectives. The arts have long been our way to explore our feelings, our lives and what makes us human; for many, Dramatherapy offers new tools and ways of exploring and understanding their thoughts, memories, feelings and ‘inner worlds’.

I work a lot with imagery, metaphor and character-based work (a great way to understand different parts of yourself!). I thoroughly enjoy working with the interests of my clients, and understanding how they relate to their favourite films, stories and characters.

I offer a range of face-to-face and online services to meet the emotional, psychological needs of adults:

Alongside offering one‑to‑one creative therapy and therapeutic, creative, and educational workshops, I also offer some professional services for mental health professionals:

Please feel free to explore the website to find out more about the services I offer and a bit about me and my practice, or feel free to get in touch if you’d like to connect and find out if Bristol Dramatherapy can help support you and give you the safe space you’re looking for to breathe, ground, process and reflect.

Warmest wishes,
