This agreement outlines what you can expect from Thrive sessions and what is expected of you as a participant. Thrive is a supportive, creative, community‑focused wellbeing programme. Please read carefully and ask about anything that feels unclear.
1. Purpose and Potential Risks
Thrive sessions are facilitated by Laura Hurkett, a registered Dramatherapist and Creative Clinical Supervisor. In Thrive, Laura acts as a Group Facilitator and Mental Health Practitioner, not as your therapist, however brings her knowledge and experience to how the sessions are facilitated. Thrive sits within therapeutic services, which are different from therapy by meeting different needs, requiring different boundaries, and offering different levels of holding.
Thrive offers creative, reflective, movement‑based and arts‑based wellbeing sessions designed to support resilience, grounding, connection, and personal insight. Any creative and embodied work can bring up emotions or unexpected feelings. This is normal and often part of meaningful reflective work and processing. You are encouraged to take part at your own pace and to communicate if something feels too much so you can receive appropriate support.
To participate in Thrive, you must agree that you currently experience the following, and any changes will need to be discussed with Laura:
• Currently feel generally able to care for your own emotional and psychological wellbeing day‑to‑day (regardless if you have a diagnoses or not), however want to develop more skills, resilience, awareness or connections with others whilst having fun and being creative.
• Currently feel that you are currently not in crisis and am not at risk of causing lasting harm to yourself or others.
• Can engage safely and respectfully within a group (and understand that different groups have different participation levels to support you)
• Understand that I am unable to accept Thrive clients as Therapy clients once members have attended sessions.
• If you are receiving therapy elsewhere, Thrive can sit alongside it as light‑touch support, creativity, and community connection – however please make your therapist (and Laura, if you’d like) aware.
You’re free to leave whenever you wish. You don’t need to give notice, though you’re welcome to let me know if you’d like to. You’re always welcome to return if availability allows and the service remains suitable for your needs.
2. Sessions
BOOKING: Sessions are booked via bristoldramatherapy.setmore.com. All current session offerings, prices, start times and durations can be found there or on my website.
In‑person Thrive sessions take place at: The Bromley Therapy & Wellbeing, 73 Quakers Road, Bristol, BS16 6NH.
BUILDING GUIDELINES:
Doors open 15 minutes before each group session to give you time to arrive gently — make a drink, settle in, use the facilities, and ease into the space. To protect the privacy, grounding, and reflective atmosphere of the group, late arrivals will not be able to join once the session has begun.
Online Thrive sessions may be offered for specific workshops or events in future, however I do encourage face-to-face connection wherever possible.
For One-to-One appointments: Please arrive no more than 10 minutes before your session.
Please be mindfully safe, follow all building safety procedures and do not leave belongings unattended during your visit. Staff‑only areas must not be accessed.
Please be as quiet as possible in the rear hallway and courtyard areas of the building, as other practitioners are working in this area.
Please respect our neighbours during your visit. If arriving by car, please park respectfully for other businesses. We have one space reserved at the rear of the building for individuals attending one-to-one appointments only.
SESSION STRUCTURE:
Each session includes a clear opening, creative exploration, and a grounding/check‑out period. The check‑out may be slightly shorter depending on the natural end of the session.
REVIEWS:
Because Thrive is not psychotherapy, there are no clinical reviews. However, participants may be invited to share feedback or reflections to help shape the programme.
Occasional, additional One-to-One Member Meets can be booked with Laura at any point. Again, these are not therapy — they are a chance to:
• Check in about your engagement
• Explore which workshops may support you best
• Review your needs
• Discuss any concerns
• Receive signposting to other services if helpful
These are available online or face-to-face. Online Thrive sessions (when offered) follow the same duration and fee structure as in‑person sessions. Sessions are usually held via Google Meet, with alternatives such as phone, WhatsApp or FaceTime available on request. Please give at least 10 minutes’ notice if you need to switch to online for any reason after previously booking face-to-face.
3. Fees
PRICING:
Current Thrive session offerings, including times and prices, are listed and bookable on bristoldramatherapy.setmore.com.
All sessions must be prepaid before they begin. You can pay online when booking, or in person before the session starts.
Thrive membership works on a Pay As You Book basis — there are no monthly fees. To keep your membership active, simply book and attend one session every three months. If your membership lapses, you’re welcome to re‑join at any time by booking another Membership Meet, as long as there is space within the community and the service remains the right fit for your needs.
METHODS:
Payment can be made online or at the premises. Payment is due at the time of booking or upon arrival at the space before the session begins.
Some Thrive sessions need to be block-booked to ensure members work with the same people each week. These need to be payable in full at time of the block start and are non-refundable.
4. Cancellations and Rescheduling
CANCELLATION POLICY:
If you need to cancel, please give as much notice as possible. If you are unable to cancel your session online (preferred) please contact Laura directly.
LATE NOTICE CHARGES:
Instead of monthly payments, Thrive uses late‑notice cancellation charges for sessions cancelled less than 6 hours before the start time or non‑attendance. Late-notice cancellation charges match the original cost of the service booked. Any cancellation charges will need to be settled before booking your next Thrive event.
This approach means that, even with the occasional late cancellation (because life happens), members usually pay significantly less overall than they would with a subscription, whilst protecting the space that was held for them. It keeps the service financially sustainable while remaining flexible, accessible, and responsive to the needs of the people who make up Thrive.
FACILITATOR ABSENCE:
If Laura needs to cancel a session, she will contact you promptly. If the session cannot be rescheduled, you will not be charged or will be issued a refund if you’ve already paid.
5. Confidentiality & Professional Standards:
CONFIDENTIALITY:
Confidentiality is maintained in line with GDPR and the Data Protection Act. Information is only shared without consent if there is a safeguarding concern or risk of harm to you or others. Laura attends regular clinical supervision. Supervisors are bound by confidentiality, and participant identities are protected.
GROUP CONFIDENTIALITY:
Participants agree to keep personal information shared by others within the group confidential.
RECORDS:
Thrive records are minimal and may include attendance, themes explored, and brief facilitator notes to support safe practice. No sessions are audio recorded without explicit agreement. There is CCTV in the Bromley that is only viewable by Laura; without incidents relating to safety and security, footage is automatically deleted after 7 days. There is a Ring camera at the rear also only viewable by Laura, this footage is deleted automatically after 14 days without incident.
STORAGE:
Records are stored securely in line with Bristol Dramatherapy’s data protection procedures. Artwork created in Thrive may be stored temporarily for up to two weeks before being collected or respectfully disposed of. Records are kept for 7 years from your last Thrive session, in line with professional standards.
6. Professional Standards
Laura Hurkett is registered with the HCPC and follows the codes of practice of both HCPC and BADth. She holds an MA in Drama and Movement Therapy, a certificate in Creative Clinical Supervision, and maintains ongoing professional development. She also holds an enhanced DBS and full professional insurance.
8. Participant Responsibilities
As a Thrive member, you agree to:

- Communicate any access needs or concerns.
- Respect the group, the space, and confidentiality.
- Use Thrive as a reflective wellbeing space, not a substitute for therapy or crisis support.
